Solutions to enhance practical quality of higher education

As a part of the UK-Vietnam Higher Education Partnership Fund sponsored by British Council, bet365 soccer B?m ?? vo trang web chnh th?c , in collaboration with Birmingham City University (UK) held the conference on “Making practice matter: Exploring creative and qualitative methods in Higher Education research across international contexts?at 300A Campus, District 4, Ho Chi Minh City on November 13th 2019. More than 150 representatives from universities, educational organizations and businesses participated in the conference.

A majority of participants came from universities, educational institutions and businesses

The conference combines 18 presentations presented by leading professionals in Higher Education (HE) sector focusing on the topics of creative methods in HE research which assist lecturers, teachers and leaners in various international contexts. Further discussions into these topics can be used as recommendations to implement at educational institutions in Vietnam. After the conference, the participating specialists will establish a forum to help academics discuss, share experiences and apply creative research methods in developing scientific studies and teaching expertise.

The conference is also an opportunity to sum up the results from the project “Teaching and learning together: re-visioning TNE partnerships as collaborative communities of practice?implemented by NTTU, Birmingham City University (BCU), University of Education ?Vietnam National University, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) University of Education in 2018 and 2019.

18 research projects presented by leading researchers in the field

Assoc. Prof. Dr Tran Thi Hong ?Vice President of NTTU shared: “The theme of the academic year 2018-2019 at NTTU is High Quality ?Great Employment. This means that we concentrate on enhancing the quality of academic curriculum directing to practical application and innovation in higher education in the context of Education 4.0. The concept of Education 4.0 is about the application of innovative information technology to improve the teaching effectiveness. Teaching and learning activities can be taken place everywhere and its flexibility helps students gain skills to meet the future job requirements. With the assistance from British Council, NTTU, cooperating with BCU, University and Education, VNU Hanoi and HCMC University of Education, organized the conference to learn about creative research methods supporting professional study across international contexts. Based on that, we can recommend future implementations in the Vietnamese context?

Assoc. Prof. Dr Tran Thi Hong ?Vice President of NTTU shared her speech at the conference

Projects in the Vietnam-UK Higher Education Partnership commenced from 2016 with a conference on the topic of “Improving employability outcomes through student-centred approaches to learning? The conference was held by NTTU and BCU with sponsorship of British Council, gaining remarkable achievements. Until 2017, British Council offered sponsorships to expand a project on “Digitising and re-contextualising successful approaches to student-centred learning for employability in Vietnamese contexts? BCU, NTTU, University of Education, Hanoi and HCMC University of Education were the participating institutions of the project. In 2018 ?2019, these institutions were granted funding to carry out the “Teaching and learning together: re-visioning TNE partnerships as collaborative communities of practice?project.

The 2019 conference created opportunities to explore different perspectives about transforming and enhancing the quality of higher education in the changing social contexts. Moreover, participating academics were able to meet, exchange and share about the visions, directions and professional experiences in the Higher Education sector. It is beneficial for academics in accumulating experiences, adapting innovative methods, developing teaching expertise, and obtaining multidimensional perspectives on higher education in domestic and international contexts.
