In the morning of 9th September 2017, the Board of Rectors of NTTU and students of Biotechnology Faculty had a visit, experience and collected farm produce at the Hitech Agriculture Area of NTTU at the Applied Hitech Agriculture Center in Dak Nong Province.
The total area of the Hitech Agriculture Center of NTTU is 2.8ha which includes 1.1ha for TR4 coffee growing. TR4 coffee is one of the first choices of farmers thanks to its rapid growth ability, great rust resistance and high performance up to 10 tons of coffee beans/ ha.
The Hitech Agriculture Center of NTTU also spends 0.7ha in the total area of the farmland for growing BLĐ 034 avocados. These avocados are receiving good reviews from farmers thanks to their high productivity, great disease resistance, high successful grown berry and can be collected almost all year round, can be considered as an unseasonable fruit so the economic effect they bring back is huge. The watering system that the center uses for the coffees and avocados is automatic, water saving, and can do fertilizer watering through the system.

Here there also has a hitech agriculture experiment Center for fresh vegetables growing following the greenhouse model of 1.0ha. This greenhouse currently has 1.000 beef tomatoes and 1000 Japanese chillies. Both of them are grown with Dutch technology, Israel watering and fertilizing by the drip irrigation system.

The gross agricultural output of chilies and avocados that the center had harvested is nearly 1 ton per month, and can be continually harvested within 8 months. Because they are grown inside the greenhouse, they can be separated from bugs, insects and poisons that are harmful to vegetables. Whenever there are pests, engineers at the center use only biological medicines PV2 from Biocon Company. Therefore, produce harvested at Hitech Agriculture Area of NTTU are completely fresh and use no plant protection drugs.

Beside the Hitech Agriculture Area of NTTU, Tat Thanh Biological Agriculture Institute of NTTU has spent a long time researching and putting Hydroponic vegetables growing system into practice. The institute also directly breed, research the cultivated condition, temperature, nutrition, etc. to look for the best method of creating high productivity. All of those are the continuous attempt of the Board of Rectors of the university in general, the Hitech Agriculture Area of NTTU as well as Tat Thanh Biological Agriculture Institute in specific in fulfilling the urgent need of fresh vegetables and fruits for people.
Students who study at NTTU are not only equipped with theory but they also have a chance to improve their skills and practice during their learning. Specially, the Faculty of Environment, Chemical, and Food Technology has associated with farmers to create goods from high productive produce by high technological applications updated from Thailand, such as: whole black-dried lemons, An Giang dill pickles with mustard seed, chili sauces, Western tomato sauces, Ben Tre canned pomelo, cider Ninh Thuan green apples, etc. Especially, students of Food Technology major with the support from their lecturers now can experimental bake their own breads and sell them at school.

Moreover, a great number of startup models of students from Faculty of Environment, Chemical, and Food Technology under the guide of Dr. Le Quoc Tuan have presented lots of radical start up ideas from traditional produce, applied high technology and updated it to make it fit Vietnamese condition and human.
NTTU is not only a training place but it is also a modern researching environment for students and teachers, which completely follows the training theory: “True Learning – True Success – True Value – True Future.”
