NTTU – In the morning of 16th April 2017, the opening ceremony and Qualifying National Round for Microsoft Office Specialist World Championship (MOSWC) 2017 began simultaneously in three major cities – Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang – with the participation of more than 1000 candidates. Competing against many excellent opponents, the Informatics team of bet365 soccer Bấm để vào trang web chính thức achieved the best result and was chosen to join the Final National Round on the upcoming 7th May 2017. This will be a great opportunity for NTTU’s team to get the ticket for the Final International Round taking place in Anaheim, California, United States.
The HCM city-division contest took place at Hoa Sen University with the participation of more than 400 candidates from the southern high schools, colleges, and universities. After having practiced the informatics – MOS skills at the school’s Center for Informatics, the bet365 soccer Bấm để vào trang web chính thức ’s team achieved excellent results. The most outstanding achievement came from Luu My Huong, a pharmacy student who competed at Microsoft Excel 2013 category, with a perfect score 1000/1000. As one out of four candidates with the perfect score, and one out of 50 candidates to compete at the Final National Round, Phuong said “(as it was) the first time for me to join the Microsoft Office Specialist World Championship (MOSWC) as well as to take an international-standard informatics test, I was bewildered at first. Yet, with all the teachings from school and the enthusiastic guidance from the Center for Informatics’ lecturers, I was able to finish the test with a satisfactory result. MOSWC was not just a contest but also a great playground for everyone to proof their Informatics skills. In my opinion, the MOS test carries many useful applications in schoolwork as well as in real life.”

MOSWC is a great chance for Vietnamese students to approach and practice informatics skills according to international standards to improve productivity at school or at work. When joining the contest, candidates will have an opportunity to approach international-standard assessment through the MOS exam directly conducted by the top international certification solutions corporation Certiport, United States.
After the the Final National Round in May 2017, there will be 3 candidates from 3 different categories chosen to become MOS ambassadors to represent Vietnam at the Final International Round in Anaheim, California, United States from 30th July to 2nd August 2017. Based on the statistics provided by the organizers, by the end of March 2017, there had been over 700,000 candidates competing at the qualifying rounds. This is the 8th year Vietnam participates in this highly competitive contest. After 7 years competing, Vietnamese has proven its name and position with 1 gold medal, 1 silver, and 5 bronze medals in the past 5 consecutive years.
| Microsoft Office Specialist World Championship is a well-known global competition about informatics skills organized by Certiport Corporation in the US. In Vietnam, the 2017 MOSWC is hosted by IIG Vietnam with the primary fund from Microsoft Corporation. It is nation-wide and consists of two rounds: Qualifying National Round and Final National Round.
The unique point of this year competition is the limitation to only Microsoft Office 2013 with 3 categories: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint. he Final International Round in Anaheim, California, United States from 30th July to 2nd August 2017.
