Projects in the Vietnam-UK Higher Education Partnership commenced from 2016 with a conference on the topic of “Improving employability outcomes through student-centred approaches to learning”. The conference was held by NTTU and BCU with sponsorship of British Council, gaining remarkable achievements. Until 2017, British Council offered sponsorships to expand a project on “Digitising and re-contextualising successful approaches to student-centred learning for employability in Vietnamese contexts”. BCU, NTTU, University of Education, Hanoi and HCMC University of Education were the participating institutions of the project. In 2018 – 2019, these institutions were granted funding to carry out the “Teaching and learning together: re-visioning TNE partnerships as collaborative communities of practice” project.

The 2019 conference created opportunities to explore different perspectives about transforming and enhancing the quality of higher education in the changing social contexts. Moreover, participating academics were able to meet, exchange and share about the visions, directions and professional experiences in the Higher Education sector. It is beneficial for academics in accumulating experiences, adapting innovative methods, developing teaching expertise, and obtaining multidimensional perspectives on higher education in domestic and international contexts.
